Abstract. Asymptotic formulas for
calculating a scattering field of an arbitrarily oriented magnetic and electric
dipole located on axis of a perfectly conducting disk were obtained using the
method of physical theory of diffraction and the method of uniform asymptotic
theory of diffraction. Radiation patterns were calculated using the asymptotic
formulas and a numerical solution of a singular integral equation. The obtained
results were compared to ones available in literature. A dependence of the front-to-back
ratio on the disk’s radius was investigated.
