Abstract: The paper discusses the
hot-spot model of the superconducting hot-electron bolometer applied to the
estimation of the absorbed local oscillator power. As the length of the
sensitive element is decreased the absorbed power becomes length-independent.
Key words: hot-electron effect in superconductors, heterodyne receivers, absorbed
local oscillator power.
