Abstract. Using electrodynamic modeling on the basis of finite element methods, an over-range cylindrical antenna array of TEM horns with metallization of the inter-horn space and a screen is studied. The antenna array consists of 40 linear arrays arranged in a circle. The pattern of the linear array and reflection coefficients in the composition of the cylindrical one were found. Using the corresponding frequency characteristics and direct numerical procedure the dependence of the matching characteristics and the radiation of the cylindrical array on the number of excited linear arrays and the number of TEM horns in the linear array were studied. The results obtained using two modeling methods are close to each other.  It is shown that a cylindrical array with 19 excited lines of 16 TEM horns is matched in a frequency band of more than 40:1.

Key words: cylindrical antenna array, ultra wide band antenna, over wave range antenna.
