The method of the amplitude-phase synthesis of the antenna array with the restrictions to the sidelobe envelope

Abstract. The method of the amplitude-phase synthesis of the antenna array on requirements for the sidelobe envelope is offered. The maximum of ratio of the signal-to-noise+interference (SNR) is used as criteria. In this the distribution of the interferences is set with the help of the weight function. To the forming the weight function during the iterative process take into account the preassigned sidelobe envelope the analytical expression is represented. The task of the maximization of the SNR is solved for every step of the iterative process. If the level of the sidelobe of the forming radiation pattern exceeds the sidelobe envelope in any direction then the weight function is increased in this direction. If the level of the sidelobe of the forming radiation pattern lower of the sidelobe envelope then the weight function is decreased in this direction. The exit from the iterative process is performed on reaching of the required quantity of the steps or in condition of the realization of requirements for accuracy of the realization of the sidelobes or the energy of the antenna arrays. The choice of the weight function providing the acceptable quality of the approximation of the sidelobe envelope makes it possible to achieve the formulating purpose of the proposing method. The results of the task solution of the synthesis of the linear and flat antennas arrays with various initial parameters of the iteration process and requirements to the sidelobe envelope are showed. The illustrations characterizing convergence of the method and the quality of the array antenna radiatin pattern are represented.
