Abstract. The textile antennas are a special class of antennas that are partially or completely made of textile materials, unlike conventional antennas, which consist of rigid materials. The main advantages of this realization are: low weight, relatively simple design, the ability to use separately and on any surface, including curved and when the object is moving. This article shows possible designs of the textile antennas and also discusses the technologies for their production. The intelligent textile systems are of great interest for application in the various fields. This article presents an overview of several wearable textile antennas operating in various frequency ranges, from the lower UHF bands to the latest millimeter wave band at 60 GHz. Wearable antenna technologies is evolving and improving, from simple rectangular patch antennas to more complex topologies using new materials and promising technological solutions. Wireless communications, via textile antennas and wearable technologies, is a popular area of research that can focus on new structures and topologies that deliver improved performance and practical applications.
Key words: textile antennas, wearable antenna technology, wireless communications.
