Abstract. The paper presents results of investigating the development of wireless information systems  designed to monitor distributed parameters (in particular medical ones). The conjugation of heterogeneous network technologies in such systems is the focus of our attention. We discuss the results of implementing a system prototype based on wireless networking standard IEEE 802.15.4. We also present the results of testing this prototype in project Mars-500 (experiment of simulation the work in spacesuit after landing of cosmonauts on the surface of the planet).

Keywords: wireless monitoring, distributed information system, heterogeneous network.
