Abstract: We consider the problem of
propagation of a plane wave with arbitrary time dependence in infinite
nonlinear medium. The solution of this problem allows revealing General regularities the transformation of
waveform and its spectral composition depending on the original signal and
nonlinear characteristics of medium. The proposed approach, unlike classical one,
does not lead to unlimited increase of the wave amplitude for large values of
time and spatial variables.
