Methodology for quick measurement of effective scattering area of radar objects on matching and cross polarizations

Abstract. In this work, we propose a technique for quick measurements of the effective scattering area of radar objects on coincident and cross polarizations in an open testing ground with a flexible suspension system. The methodology includes the accelerated calibration of the main channels of the measuring installations through the use of a special reflector and the simultaneous determination of values at cross polarizations using calibrations of the main channels. Experimental and calculated data are presented.
