Abstract. The work is devoted to the problem of short-term forecasting of the operability of a radio engineering system based on information obtained in the process of its functioning. To generate diagnostic information, one time series is formed, the value of which at various points in time is determined by the sum of failures of the entire system and its individual components. The analysis of such a scalar series will significantly reduce the time for diagnosing possible failures. Processing this diagnostic series in order to obtain the necessary information about the state of the system and its individual parts is carried out using spectral analysis and frequency digital filtering. The article shows the possibility of isolating trends from the general integrated series of various components: linear and harmonic (from sinusoidal components and rectangular pulses) trends, which reduces the number of analyzed information channels, improves the efficiency of generating information about the state of the system and the reliability of short-term forecasting. The influence of the number of points in the time series, the autocorrelation coefficient of the ordinates of the time series, the presence of separate various short harmonic components, and the possibility of their separation from the integral diagnostic time series are estimated. Recommendations for the organization of short-term forecasting of the investigated components of the diagnostic series are given.

Keywords: time series, diagnostic series, spectral analysis, frequency filtering, forecasting, harmonic and linear trends.
