Algorithm for correcting echo signals in a multibeam echo sounder with using Linear-Frequency Modulated (Chirp) sounding signal

Abstract: The algorithm for suppressing signals passing through the side lobes of a multibeam echosounder is developed. This algorithm is intended for use in sounders with a digital system of generating an antenna array pattern. The algorithm is based on the use of area survey data obtained by multibeam echosounder in the process of sonar sounding of the bottom surface. An example of using this algorithm for correcting the angular spectrum of echo signal in multibeam echosounder with a linear frequency modulated (chirp) sounding signal is given.
