Abstract: The problem of the filter synthesis is solved at this paper. The filter implements a quasi-optimal estimation of the frequency characteristics of two or more closely spaced reflectors, which are localized in the time domain. The algorithm is realized on the assumption the channel model is Gaussian with independent reflectors and the channel frequency response is processed. Measurement processing method is based on the application of the quasi-optimal filter that uses the UT (unscented transformation) conversion. The algorithm convergence and processing algorithm performance are shown. The statistical characteristics of the estimation accuracy of the frequency characteristics for the individual reflectors are obtained by mathematical simulation. The results of processing of the experimental data obtained using the complex vector analyzer are given. The verification standard of Beatty is chosen as the investigation object. Measurements of the complex reflection coefficient are implemented in the frequency range from 10 MHz to 18 GHz.
