THE USE OF SATELLITE MICROWAVE RADIOMETRIC DATA
TO SEARCH FOR MECHANISM OF FORMATION OF HURRICANES
IN THE RIFT ZONES OF TROPICAL ATLANTIC

Abstract. The areas of origin of hurricanes in the tropical region of the North Atlantic for the period 1995–2023 are identified and the degree of their localization relative to tectonic faults at the ocean bottom is estimated. The role of tropical (African) waves in the atmosphere in the localization of the areas of origin of tropical hurricanes in the Mid-Atlantic ridge, characterized by high hydrothermal activity, is illustrated. The temporal dynamics of the total moisture content of the atmosphere and the fluxes of latent and sensible heat at the ocean surface in this area during the formation of hurricanes are investigated.
