Abstract. The article presents an approach for choosing a mixed measurement topology of a difference-rangefinder system based on the criteria for the minimum modulus of the gradient of the range difference function and the minimum modulus of the cosine of the angle between the gradients of the range difference functions corresponding to two measuring bases, in order to increase the accuracy of determining the location of the radio source.

Key words: location determination, difference-range method, coordinate-informative parameters measurements topology.
