Abstract. Taking into account the oscillating polarization current in Maxwell's equations allowed us to show that the Poynting vector is strictly directed in the direction of the normal to the wavefront, and the ray trajectories obey the Snellius law. Expressions for permeability cause asymmetry of the ascending and descending sections of the ray trajectory depending on their orientation relative to the magnetic field line. The conductivity of the ionosphere increases dramatically with an increase in the angle between the direction of the wave vector and the vector of the geomagnetic field, which imposes additional restrictions on the angle of the radio wave output.
Keywords: decameter radio waves, ionosphere, oscillating polarization current, dielectric permeability, electrical conductivity.
