Abstract. This paper considers the configuration and technical characteristics of the accelerator target for the generation of braking X-rays. It is proposed to use a compact electro-vacuum source with cyclotron resonance, which suggested by the authors of this article, as an electron accelerator capable of generating X-rays with the same intensity as traditional sources. The numerical simulation of the braking radiation of generation processes makes it possible to optimize the configuration of the target in order to increase the efficiency of the braking radiation source. The directional pattern of the braking radiation is calculated based on the simulation, and the distribution and layered absorption of the braking radiation are visualized.

Keywords: braking radiation, electron accelerator, target.
