SYSTEMATIZATION, PRINCIPLES OF WORK AND AREA OF APPLICATION OF SENSORS

A review of various types of sensors is represented. Their classification is given; the principles of work of some types of sensors and area of their application are circumscribed. The special attention is given to electrochemical sensors, thermo-sensors, biosensors and optical chemical sensors. The fundamental phenomena underlying the work principle of optical chemical sensors are considered. The principle of operation of the integrated-optical chemical sensors of absorbing type is circumscribed. The possibilities of application of integrated optical sensors in a microelectronic industry, chemical industry, medicine and ecology are marked.
