Abstract. Two-port two-polarized patch antenna design is proposed and modeled as an element of a circular antenna array. Frequency and radiation characteristics of such antenna are obtained. Nine-element circular antenna array with cyclic phase distribution on the patch elements is modeled. Radiation characteristics of modes with different orbital angular momentum are considered. It is shown that the direction of radiation in the elevation changes in a relatively wide angular range depending on the mode number and speed of phase rotation along the array. Possibility of use of this effect for scanning by a vortex beam in hemisphere is noted.

Keywords: patch antenna, circular antenna array, orbital angular momentum, vortex-like beam, scanning in hemisphere.
