Abstract.
The
structure of an electromagnetic field radiated in free space by a nonstationary
current having a trapezium shape in the time domain is studied. It is shown
that in this case the radiation field is a pair of monopulses of opposite
polarity, and their space-time separation depends on the time interval in which
the current is constant. A comparative estimate of the possible effects of
mono- and bipolar pulses on objects of natural and synthetical origin is given.
