Abstract. The model that allows to estimate the effect of greenery on the radio wave propagation in the central part of Russia. The effect of greenery on the radio wave propagation creates additional losses for the radio signal propagation not only along the Earth's surface. The performed calculations using the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU Radio Sector) have shown that, depending on the distance of the radiated elements from trees whose height exceeds the antenna location, additional losses in the radio signal propagation must be taken into account. In this case, the loss value is functionally related to the frequency of the signals. The article considers the prediction of the impact of losses on the radio wave propagation by future facilities of the VHF band operating at frequencies up to 80 MHz. It was taken into account that the forest area typical of the central part of Russia prevails in the studied area.
Key words: radio wave propagation, losses in UHF radio channel, useful signal.
