Abstract. This article provides an overview of the current state and trends in the development of the component base of W-band (75 – 110 GHz) phased array antennas. The main components of antenna systems including conductor segments (elements), phase shifters, amplifiers and integrated transmitting and receiving modules. The technologies for implementing phased arrays based on GaAs, InP, SiGe, and CMOS, as well as solutions based on the “antenna-in-package” and “antenna-on-chip” concepts, are analyzed. The prospects of using “systems-on-chip” concepts and additive technologies for the construction of compact and broadband antenna systems of a new generation are noted.

Key words: W-band component base, phased arrays antennas, conductor elements, phase shifters, antenna on chip, antenna in package, systems on chip, additive technologies, broadband antenna, antenna systems, amplifiers, integrated transmitting modules, integrated receiving modules, overview, state of development, compact antennas, trends of development, antenna, system, arrays, phase, concept, technology.
