Eigen modes of an array of coupled strip lines

Abstract. Results of theoretical investigation of eigen modes of an infinite array of coupled strip lines are presented. Eigen mode boundary problem for the array in quasi-periodical regime is formulated. The problem is reduced to a system of integral equations relatively electrical currents on strip conductors. The system of integral equations is reduced to a system of singular integral equations that is analytically solved in quasi-static approximation. A method for the system solution in the general case is proposed. This method reduces integral equations to a low order system of linear algebraic equations. Behavior of eigen mode parameters: characteristic impedance and retardation factor relatively geometrical parameters and inter – channel phase shift is numerically investigated. Special attention is paid to wave transformation when strip width is close to array period and periodical structure transforms to two plane waveguides.
