Received October 18, 2000

The new multicomponent laser strainmeters have been developed and tested. The interferometer instruments of 1-2 m length have threshold resolution about 0.001 nanometer and dynamic range up to 180-190 dB. This is achieved using by especial device: dynamic range expander which allows to measure the seismic and another strains of the earth surface both in horizontal and vertical planes with high accuracy. A number of long term geophysical observations was made during 1997- 1999. The first estimation for vertical component of the earth surface strain/barometric factor has been obtained. The advance of a course of the earth surface strains as contrasted to by course of atmospheric pressure is revealed.
