DISCRETE WAVELET  TRANSFORM APPLICATION TO RAYLEIGHT FADING CHANNEL ESTIMATION IN RADIO COMMUNICATIONS

  Four algorithms for flat  fading radio channel estimation was investigated, namely algorithms based on AR-model with sliding window and without sliding window, algorithm that uses Discrete Wavelet Transform, algorithm that uses Discrete Wavelet Packet Transform. As it is shown, the application of DWT and DWPT in channel estimation problem allows decrease the square average prediction error in comparison with methods that use AR-model. It is shown as well  that performance of the radio communications with application DWT and DWPT can be increase the capacity of the channel up to ~3 dB comparing with conventional method based on AR-model. This goal obtained due to more detailed analysis of flat fading channel in the varied bands of frequency that received from coefficients of DWT and DWPT.
