Abstract. The paper is an introduction to a collection of reports made at the conference “Radar sounding of Earth covers by means of synthetic aperture radar” in Ulan-Ude, September 2010. Proof of radar techniques and technologies actuality for Russian needs is given as well as an importance of such a national conferences is underlined. Information about conference results is provided.
