Abstract. A proven method of complex classification of group objects based on multispectral species data is presented. Three methods of calculating the probability of determining the shape (recognition) of a group object are given. The a priori assessment of the potential capabilities of remote sensing tools obtained using the developed methodology acquires special practical significance at the stages of planning and application of these tools in various physical fields.
