Model of the UWB-generator
with reconfigurable pulse shape

Abstract. The paper describes a method for controlling the shape of a Gaussian bell pulses. The approach is based on controlling of the duration of direct current flow through a diode. This principle allows to control the amount of charge injected into the active region of the diode. The charge volume is related to the shape of the video pulse at the output of the generator. Shape control can be applied in communication systems for organizing pulse sequence modulation. The paper presents simulation results confirming the possibility of controlling the charge volume and, consequently, the shape of the resulting pulse.
