Abstract. The wet soil's dielectric model whose input parameters are frequency, volumetric moisture content, and physical clay content are presented. This model was developed based on statistical analysis of dielectric permettivity data for five soil samples with differ partical size distribution from steppe and forest-steppe climate zones within the territory of southern Western Siberia. A comparison of dielectric data obtained empirically and calculated using the model for one type of soil is carried out. The obtained results will find application in assessing the radiophysical characteristics of the underlying surface in the frequency range from 3 MHz to 1 GHz.
Key words: complex dielectric permittivity, underlying surface.
Financing: The work was carried out according to the state task of the Omsk Scientific Center SB RAS (project registration number 122011200349-3).
