Abstract. Constant, incessant tinnitus (chronic tinnitus) at a frequency close to 7-10 kHz with a subjective assessment of the amplitude value of 35-45 dB relative to the hearing threshold for almost 14 years forced us to conduct this analysis. In some cases, medications only weaken this effect, since the cause of the disease is unclear with normal – healthy functioning of the hearing organs. The aim of the work was to determine the physical cause of such a phenomenon in a biological system. The work uses a global approach used in the theory of automatic control: the main case of pathology associated with aging and death of hair cells (sensory receptors of sound) of the cochlea of the inner ear, responsible for receiving the high-frequency part of the audio frequency range, is analyzed. Audio characteristics are measured and compared with standard ones. Approximation is carried out. A mathematical model is built. The mechanism of autoexcitation due to a sharp phase shift at the critical frequency of the audio range is shown using Bode diagram methods. The limits of acceptable parameters were determined using the Simulink program. In conclusion, practical recommendations for eliminating tinnitus are given.

Key words: tinnitus, dynamic system, linear model, equal loudness curves, otoacoustic emission, Bode analysis, inner ear, stability.
