Abstract. The paper considers a method for reducing the time and cost of the work cycle associated with tuning, adjusting, estimating parameters and testing both the radar in general and its main functional systems (components) created on the basis of high-availability technologies.

The practical basis of the method is the stand of the chief designer, consisting of a basic functional set of radar, as well as technological and hardware-software with a set of software and methodological support, allowing a considerable amount of commissioning, installation and test work outside the radar deployment site.

The effectiveness of the method, compared with the traditional approach to tuning the radar, is shown by the example of the introduction of a high factory readiness radar station class. The terms of on-site cycle works were reduced by 2-3 times, and their cost decreased by 1.5-2 times. The client's risk for the implementation of the State armament program (timely delivery of the radar in operation) has significantly decreased.

Key words: tests, radio engineering production, the stand of the chief designer, the basic functional set, the early warning radars, the risk, the electronic complex, the high factory readiness, the constructive-technological matrix
