Abstract. Locusts are an especially dangerous pest of crops, given the birth rate, speed of movement, as well as the complete destruction of green plants along the migration route. To combat the locust, agricultural and chemical measures are carried out, which in some cases are associated with negative consequences. In order to successfully combat locusts, it is necessary first of all to have reliable information about the sites of oviposition. Such information is called upon to be given a survey on egg capsules location, but it is, as practice shows, the most time consuming and informative. Therefore, the task of developing remote methods of detection of location of locust egg capsules is urgent.

Key words: locusts, methods of control, detection methods for locust egg capsules location, radar and radiometric determinations of egg capsules location, pheromones, mass chromatography methods.
