Abstract. A
method for the analysis of the radiation characteristics of ultrawideband
multibeam reflector antennas for radiomonitoring purposes and passive location
of radio emission sources is proposed in the article. The partial pattern’s
stabilization of this antennas is achieved by using frequency-dependent
radar-absorbent material covers on the reflector’s working surface and
ultrawideband feed horns with radiation characteristics in the H-plane
approximate to the characteristics of the common-mode horn. To optimize the
radar-absorbent material coating scheme a mathematical model for calculating
the radiation characteristics of the antenna was developed. During modeling the
antenna a combined approach, which combines both experimental measurement data
feed characteristics and radiation patterns design using physical optics, was
applied.
