Abstract.
We propose a method to determine the root-mean-square
(RMS) value
of the harmonic process in real time, which is based on the principle of phase
tracking signal corresponding to the instantaneous value of the process, it is
numerically equal to the RMS. The features of the method, the error arising
from its application, as well as the possibility to simplify the algorithmic
and developed hardware devices are considered.
