Abstract. We consider an ability of
applying photon number resolving superconducting single-photon detector as a
sensor in receiving modules for telecommunication lines. We demonstrate that
for achieving bit error rate at the order of 10-11 it is sufficient
to have two order of magnitude smaller power in an optical pulse as compared to
the existing receiving modules.
