Abstract.
This
work is devoted to developing the precise terahertz spectroscopy of aqueous solutions
containing biological molecules for applications of non-invasive biomedical
diagnostics. Spectra of the herring`s DNA and insulin-based drug were under
study experimentally. An absorption spectrum of DNA was simulated in the
terahertz range. We compared the spectra obtained with terahertz
high-resolution spectroscopy based on microwave approach with such given by standard
quasi-optical methods. Standard methods of THz spectroscopy are shown to have
insufficient spectral resolution for studying the fine structure of biological
molecules spectra.
