Abstract.
The possibility of developing the high resolution terahertz (THz)
spectrometer which is intended for solving of wide range of problems was
considered. Gas spectrometer with using of the synthesizer based on Gunn
generator and frequency multiplier with semiconductor superlattice (SL) as a
radiation source and NbN hot electron bolometer (HEB) mixer in the mode of
radiation detector as a receiver system was proposed. Experimental results of
spectrometer operation were presented: the H2O (1.92 THz, 17th
harmonic) and HDO (1.49 THz, 13th harmonic) absorption lines were
registered. The results performed were analyzed and further possibilities of
improving the spectrometer characteristics as well as spectroscopy
investigations were considered.
