Performance of
integrated optical filter consisted of input and output
waveguides and ring resonator was analyzed numerically. In order to obtain
component of electromagnetic field Ez scalar wave equation
was solved via the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. Wave equation
was supplemented with term proportional to the first derivative of Ez
on time to simulate processes compensation of loss. Snapshots in time of
FDTD-computed electromagnetic field obviously illustrate excitation process of
ring resonator. Increase of transmission coefficient and transient curves
determining operation speed of device are presented.
