COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF APPROXIMATIONS FOR PROBABILITY
OF CORRECT DETECTION OF RADAR SIGNALS

R.S. Anosov, S.S. Anosov

Received Aug 23, 2000

The comparative analysis of the approximations for the estimate of the quality optimal according to Neumann-Pearson criterion radar signal detection at the background of Gaussian noise has been carried out. The values of the relative error of approximations are obtained for three statistical models of signals and noises, being used in the synthesis of radars, and of the various levels of the false alarm probability. The approximations are recommended for use in cases failing to obtain the precise analytical expressions for the probability of correct detection due to the impossibility of finding the laws of sufficienty statistics distribution.
