Abstract. The possibility of early detection of the conditions for the occurrence of floods according to satellite remote sensing data has been studied. The availability of these data for the selected time period and territory – the Crimean peninsula and the adjacent waters of the Azov and Black Seas – was checked. An analysis was made of the available processed information from Earth remote sensing satellites related to the flood in the Crimea in June 2021. With the help of applications running in the Java programming language, a selection was made to identify the conditions for the occurrence of floods and the prospects for compiling an operational map of ongoing processes. The result of processing and visualization of products showed the possibility of using them to monitor the conditions for the formation of meteorological phenomena that can lead to floods.

Key words: floods, climate study, Meteosat satellites, data visualization, remote sensing, satellite sensing.
