Abstract. We
considered the issues related to the estimation of measurement accuracy of the
information parameters of the useful signal. These informational parameters
carry the information about the motion of extended objects, along with the correlated
additive non-Gaussian noise. Estimation of informative parameters was carried
out in a discrete-time observation model, and only non-energy informative
parameters were estimated. The lower limits of the Cramer-Rao inequality were
used to determine quantitative estimates of measured parameters. To estimate
the influence of non-Gaussian noise on the accuracy of the measurement we use
the ratio of the variance of the measurement error in the presence of additive
noise to the variance of the measurement error under the influence of Gaussian
noise. It is shown that in the case of uncorrelated and correlated non-Gaussian
noise, the increase of the correlation coefficient leads to the increase of the
generalized «signal-to-noise» ratio which, in its turn, leads to improved
accuracy of measurement of parameters. It is noted that the a posteriori
variance of the informative parameter measurement affected by non-Gaussian
noise is smaller than when the noise is correlated in nature. The dependences
are obtained, showing that reduced error of information parameter measurement
is affected not only by the magnitude of the generalized «signal-to-noise»
ratio but also by accounting for non-Gaussian nature of the influencing additive
noise, leading to a significant improvement in the accuracy of measurement of
signal parameters. Engineering estimations of the informative signal parameters
on the background of additive non-Gaussian noise, with both correlated and
independent nature were found.
