Abstract. For the floor polymeric coverings that do not have antistatic properties, the technique of restricting accumulation of operator's electrostatic potential to admissible value was developed. This value is established by the requirement of the immunity of the automated process control system (ACS TP) to the contact electrostatic discharge. The technique allows determining the conditions of operation of the floor polymer covering in the control room: select this combination of the relative humidity of air with the dimensions of open ungrounded parts of the covering surface at which the operator's potential does not exceed the admissible value. In accordance with the technique, the dependence of the specific surface resistance of the floor covering on the relative humidity of the air is used in the calculations. When designing new objects, you should choose antistatic floor coverings that must be used in combination with antistatic shoes (antistatic straps) to ensure a reliable electrical contact between the operator's body and the surface of the flooring polymer covering. Calculations confirmed that in this case the electrostatic potential of the operator does not exceed the admissible value for the equipment of ACS TP.

Key words: automated process control system (ACS TP), the discharge of static electricity (ESD), electromagnetic disturbances, floor polymer covering, relative humidity of the air.
