Abstract.
Conditions
of the formation of the frozen mode near the stationary point
ω~k4Bl of
a dispersion relation are analyzed in case of a 1D photonic crystal. It is shown
that the frozen mode of this type forms at the frequency of the contact of
boundaries of Brillouin and degenerate band gaps.
